The gospel of Jesus is not difficult. It’s actually very easy, and these short messages show how easy it is. The Apostle Paul says this when he talks about ‘the simplicity that is in Christ’ (II Corinthians 11:3).
Religion can be called ‘the religion of DO.’ It demands that we live life good to be right with God.
The gospel is instead ‘the religion of DONE.’ It reveals the power of the finished work of Jesus. It produces in us what religion can only demand.
The gospel produces good things from us (Colossians 1:5-6, Philippians 1:5-6). It empowers us to live life better by accident than we ever could on purpose in ourselves.
