Come Share My Life

Composed, Copyrighted and Performed
by Roger Himes

If you can find your home
in the shadows of my life
In all the things I am
it’s like rolling dice
Loving when I shouldn’t
caring when I couldn’t
Making lovers out of strangers
and strangers out of wives.

Real friends we are now
you’re like home to me
Being in your presence
is real peace to me
Yes, I have found the peace
that has been absent all my life
My heart and soul are home now
won’t you come share my life?

All… all… all I am is yours
good or bad or lukewarm
brand new or worn
I… I… I love you so
you fill up my empty nights
please come share my life.

All I have to offer
is a life with gaps and voids
Sorted bits and pieces
like a hundred broken toys
All I can do is turn to you
and say, “Come share my life”
Let’s start living now
and make our new life out-of-sight.

I can’t change the things I am
or the things I’ve had to do
But I can change my attitude
and this I’ll do for you
The love that is within me
is finding home with you
Please share your life with me
and let me share my life with you.

All… all… all I am is yours
good or bad or lukewarm
brand new or worn
I… I… I love you so
with all my strength and might
from morning till night,
you fill up my empty nights
Please come share my life.
